| Fall Opportunities for Children at SUMC Pre-school Parables - This is a spiritual story hour designed for two to five year olds. We will meet in the Sanctuary and Concourse on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15, beginning September 13th. All are welcome. Parents and/or grandparents are encouraged to stay and participate. A Bible Story, an enrichment activity, finger plays and song will provide a unique learning experience for all involved. Christian Kids Connection - This two hour class provides a time of academic, physical and spiritual activities for elementary age students using a one-room school house approach. Academics will be tailored to your child's individual needs. Physical activities will include circuit training, team building, and group games. Spiritual activities will include animated Bible Stories and a short devotional designed for children. Christian Kids Connection will meet on Wednesday afternoon from 3:15 to 5:15 in the Commons beginning September 14th. See Julie Sgarlata for more information regarding these great opportunities. |
| Year-round Opportunities Children’s Ministry offers exciting programs for children birth through high school. Children are divided into grade levels depending on their age during the school year. Children under the age of three as of September 1 are in the nursery for that school year. Three and four year olds are in the preschool classroom, Room 5, Kindergarten will be in Room 8, First and Second graders are In the West Commons, Third Graders are in the Scout Room, Fourth and Fifth Graders are in the East/ Middle Commons, Middle School (Sixth through Eighth Grade) students are in the Middle School Room off the gym and the High School class meets in the Youth Room off the gym. Sunday school by grade level meets Sundays after Labor Day at 10:00 after Children’s Time until Memorial Day weekend. We greatly appreciate all of our Sunday School teachers! Bible Breakfast Club is available during the school year for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Mary Crissman is our wonderful volunteer who works with our students after the 8:30 service’s children’s time. The children enjoy a bowl of cereal as they pray and learn about the Bible through a variety of activities.
