The Missions Committee of the Sycamore United Methodist Church is a working
arm of our congregation that seeks to embrace the least, the last, and the lost,
within our community, our country, and the world in the name of Jesus.
Current mission projects:
 | Developing ways the Mission Committee can participate in the NIC Harvest
2020 Initiative as advocated by Bishop Jung. The goal is to establish 100 new
faith communities - new churches, ongoing study groups, outreach programs,
etc. - by the year 2020. |
Through your donations of time, talents and resources, you have made it
possible for this committee to help support:
 | Support for the Children's Ministry "New Visions' Performing Arts
Summer Camp" presented by students from North Central College in
Naperville, Illinois August 6-12. |
 | The Youth Ministry Mission Trip to Mountain Top in the Cumberland
Mountains of Tennessee. Sixteen youth and five adults traveled to central
Tennessee to help individuals in need of home repairs done with Christian
love. |
 | The Northern Illinois Conference tour of Bishop Domingos of the West
Angolan Conference in Africa. Bishop Domingos was a featured speaker at the
recent NIC Annual Conference, and spent several weeks touring the Northern
Illinois area and learning of various missions efforts throughout the
conference. For more information on Bishop Domingos, see the Northern Illinois
Conference website and browse the archives. |
 | The Family Mission Trip to Wesley Woods at Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
Several families from our congregation spent a recent weekend at Wesley Woods
helping to prepare the site for the upcoming summer camp season. |
